Did you know there are 7 types of sea turtle species in the world? The hawksbill turtle, green, loggerhead, olive ridley, kemp ridley, leatherback and the flatback turtle? Turtles will lay 100+ eggs in the sand using their large flippers to dig nests. The temperature of the sand inside the nest will determine the sex of the turtle, with warmer temperatures producing females and colder temperatures producing males.

  Even though turtles lay their eggs in such large numbers six of the seven species of sea turtle are endangered due to human action. To help in the protection of these beautiful creatures across the great barrier reef, 10% of profits will go to the Mon Repos Turtle Centre.
